For parents: Internet Safety for your Kindergartener
Dear parents,
Our kindergarten classes will soon be learning about Internet safety. We will be using materials provided by Common Sense Media, a non-profit organization that advocates for kids’ online safety and provides high-quality materials for parents, students, and teachers.
Let’s work together to teach our children about using the Internet safely and appropriately. The parent in this video gives some good advice when he says, "You wouldn't leave your child alone in the middle of a city, and you should never do that on the Internet."

Please reinforce what your child will be learning at school by doing the following things:
1. Review these resources--we have intentionally limited them to a selected few since we know your time is limited.
3. Ask to see your child’s worksheet entitled “My Favorite Places” which is part of the “Going Places Safely” lesson that they will
learn at school. Ask about a website they visited at school, and ask him or her to tell you about the three rules for online safety. If you
have time, explore a new website together.
4. Complete this survey, which will provide information to the kindergarten teachers to help them plan future lessons.
Thank you for partnering with us to keep our children safe on the Internet!
